Kazimir MALEVICH (1879-1935).
Suprematic composition. 1920s. Oil on canvas. 89,5 by 65,5 cm. Private collection.

Works by this one of the world's most expensive painters are often falsified. One reason for this is that his "minimalist" geometric touches appear to be simple and easy to reproduce. I assumed that this work painted by a sure hand and with a great mastery is an authentic Malevich and this assumption was proved by a technological analysis of this picture carried out by the Restoration Center based in Dusseldorf  as well as by a whitewash test performed in the Kyiv Restoration Shop.

This work was displayed at the exhibition entitled Art of the 20th Century. Ukrainian Avant-guarde . Kyiv, 1998.
