Nikoly SUETIN (1897-1954)

Suprematic Composition. Early 1920s. Gouache on board.  69x75 cm. Private collection.

I began to work with this work as an anonym. Its high mastery suggested that its author is one of the best followers of Kazimir Malevich. Based on the manner, I was able to narrow the "circle of the pretenders" to three names. After careful examination, I attributed the work to Nikolay Suetin. The way of patterning, rhythm, and peculiarities of the technique point to the early 1920s. The attribution was recognized by the experts in Russian avant-garde.

The work hasn't yet been displayed.

Attributed by Prof.D.Gorbachev.
